The Council Code of Conduct establishes standards for the ethical conduct of Councillors relating to their roles and obligations as representatives of the County and a procedure for the investigation and enforcement of those standards. All municipal councils are required by the Municipal Government Act (MGA) to have a Code of Conduct Bylaw.

Council Compensation & Benefits
An independent citizen Task Force was established in 2019 to review and make recommendations on Sturgeon County Council remuneration. This Committee was comprised of public members; no elected officials sat on the committee.

The recommendations of the Citizen Task Force were accepted by Council and informed the Elected Officials Remuneration Policy.
