Construction Updates – July 26, 2024

Drop fibre (connects the access fibre to the premise)

  • A crew will be working on the last three drops in the airport area.
  • The southern part of Range Road 262 and a small portion of Glory Hills will be worked on when ATCO & Tidewater approve the crossing agreements. It is anticipated to be approximately mid-August for the pipeline companies to finish their end of the paperwork.

Splicing (connecting the fiber segments into one continuous length)

  • Cable pulling is complete.
  • Splicing along transport and access routes is complete.

ONT installation (the last step before service is available to a premise)

  • Once your drop installation is complete you are ready to contact Canadian Fibre Optics Corporation to have your Optical Network Terminal (ONT) installed and activated, 1-888-236-2947

A fire advisory is in effect for Sturgeon County due to high temperatures and lack of precipitation.

Sturgeon County offices will be close Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 for the Easter weekend. Offices will re-open for regular business hours on Tuesday, April 22 from 8:30AM - 4:30PM.
